Terms

Last updated 14 September 2026

These terms cover using RollScrub and buying a licence for it. They're written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

The licence

Buying RollScrub Pro gives you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use it on up to three Macs at a time. You can move an activation between machines whenever you like by deactivating one — you're not tied to the hardware you first installed it on.

The licence does not expire. The version you buy keeps working for as long as it runs on your hardware, with no subscription, no renewal and no check that can one day switch it off. Every 1.x update is included at no cost. If there is ever a paid 2.0, your copy carries on working exactly as it does now.

Scanning and reviewing are free forever and are not part of the paid licence.

Please don't share your licence key publicly, resell it, or work around the activation limit. Licence keys found published openly may be revoked. Nothing here stops you using RollScrub at work or on client files.

30-day money-back guarantee

If RollScrub isn't right for you, email within 30 days of buying and you'll get a full refund. No questions and no justification needed. Write to support@rollscrub.com with the email address you bought with. Refunds go back to your original payment method through Creem. Your licence is deactivated when a refund is issued.

This is in addition to whatever rights your local consumer law gives you, and it doesn't replace them.

What RollScrub promises about your files

These are the guarantees the software is built around, and they're worth stating as terms rather than marketing:

No warranty, and what that means here

RollScrub is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. It's software, and all software has bugs.

That matters more than usual for a program that moves your photographs around, so read this next part properly: keep backups. No duplicate finder — this one included — is a substitute for a backup, and you should never run one against irreplaceable files that exist in only one place. Review what RollScrub proposes before applying it. The app shows you both files side by side for exactly that reason.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to RollScrub is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for lost data, lost profit, or any indirect or consequential loss. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.

Updates

RollScrub checks rollscrub.com for updates and can install them with your confirmation. Updates are cryptographically signed, and an update that fails signature verification is refused. You can turn automatic checks off in the app.

Buying

Purchases are processed by Creem, who act as merchant of record, handle payment and are responsible for charging and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.

Other products

RollScrub is the first macOS utility we sell, and we may sell others in future. Each would be a separate product with its own page and its own terms. These terms cover RollScrub only, and nothing about a future product changes the licence you already hold for RollScrub.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date. Changes are not retroactive: the terms you bought under continue to govern your purchase, including the perpetual licence and the guarantee.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer elsewhere, this doesn't deprive you of protections your own law gives you that cannot be waived by agreement.
